About Bir billing is paragliding destination which is located in the Himalayan region in Kangra district and 50kms from Dharamshala. Bir is mainly a Buddhist town and houses a monastery and a Tibetan handicraft center. Bir is a noted centre for ecotourism, spiritual studies, and meditation. What can be a better place to beat the heat other than a beautiful hill station like Bir Billing. Bir Billing is far away from the bustling crowd of the city. A silent valley adorned by the beauteous extravagance of Mother Nature.

Bir Billing is known as the official paragliding capital of India, so you can visit here if you want to do paragliding. Toy ride around the small town is another option here. You can enjoy camping and trekking in this Himalayan hill town. You can enjoy Tibetan cuisine in Tibetan colony. Other nearby places you can visit are Deer park institute, Chokling Monastery, Dharmalaya Institute, Sherab Ling Monastery, Tibetan colony, Bir market, Tea gardens and factory.

  • Bir Landing site- It is  the official landing site for para-gliders. It is also famous for sunset view, In the evening many tourists visit here to enjoy the sunset and also there are some cafes and restaurant where you can have some snacks while enjoying the sunset making it a memorable experience.
  • Sherab ling Monastery- It is a monastery that offers periodic courses of Buddhist meditation and philosophy. It is a beautiful building offering peace and joy to body and soul. It is situated in Bhatu forest, the way to the monastery goes through the pine forest. If you are seeking peace this is the perfect place for you.
  • Deer Park Institute- The Deer Park Institute is a centre for the study of classical Indian wisdom traditions where you can enroll in programs on meditation, philosophy, art and culture, Yoga and healing arts, Buddhism and more. Here you can also visit Himalayan film school.
  • Chokling Monastery- This magnificent monastery is located in the middle of the Tibetan colony and one of the most popular monasteries in Bir. It has a huge Stupa and a statue of Padamasambhava. It offers the view of small town, stunning mountains surrounding it and Bir landing site.
  • Dharmalaya Institute- It is a eco-friendly institute that focuses on the importance of green and eco-friendly living with a number of environmental programmes like organic farming, sustainable village development, use of eco friendly items as well as meditation and yoga. Anyone can volunteer to work with the institute.
  • Baijnath temple- Baijnath temple is one of the most popular temples in Himachal pradesh. Here Lord Shiva is worshipped as Vaidyanath(the lord of physicians). The temple was built around 13th century and now a major attraction for devotees. The architectural built of this temple makes it a must visit place in Bir.
  • Bongaru waterfall- This stunning waterfall can be reached by a small trek and it is an amazing experience visiting the waterfall and spending some time with the milky water gushing through the rocks. From here you can also enjoy the view of beautiful landscape and Dhauladhar mountain range.

Day 1: Travel from Delhi to Bir-Billing

  • Overnight Travel from Delhi to Bir Billing
  • Reach Bir Billing; Check in hotel.
  • Relax and enjoy the magnificent view of the town.
  • Rest in the hotel.

Day 2: Bir-Billing Local Excursion

  • Wake up early in the morning and freshen up for the day ahead.
  • Cover all tourist attractions in Bir and you can do adventure activities here; Paragliding, Hang gliding, Chowgan Tea garden, Travel in Toy train.
  • Overnight stay in Bir.

 Day 3: Travel from Bir-Billing to Delhi

  • Wake up early in the morning and freshen up for the day ahead.
  • Visit the leftover place in Bir ; Baijnath temple, Bongaru waterfalls, monastries, Tibetan Market etc.
  • In the evening Travel from Bir to Delhi.
